At Funerals of Compassion, we have a deep understanding of the importance of the religious ritual for some families. We also respect the wishes of someone who chooses not to have a religious element to the funeral ceremony. We simply follow your instruction and liaise with the relevant clergy or civil celebrant.
Some religious services follow strict guidelines whilst others are more flexible. The choices you make during this time may include the order of service, eulogy content and music selection. If you opt to have a religious ceremony, it is always important to check with your clergy regarding music choices as some have very strict limitations for song choices to be played within a place of worship. Most clergy will contact you before the funeral and discuss the service with you.
Alternatively, some people may enjoy the flexibility of not being restricted to religious ritual and opt for a celebrant to commemorate the life of their loved one. You will be introduced to the celebrant by us prior to the day of the funeral. This will give you a chance to discuss the order of service, eulogies, music, etc. with them directly.
Another option although very rare, is that you may wish to construct an order of service and speak without the aid of a celebrant. If you feel comfortable in doing so, it can be quite a touching and intimate tribute to your loved one. The only limitations to consider are time constraints and how you feel.
